Time-based filtering
You can block domains based on time period or duration of access.

Work-time and Free-time Policies
For example, suppose you want to block domains in the Shopping category during office hours (9 AM ~ 5 PM on weekdays).

On the NxFilter GUI, you can:

  • Assign a policy that blocks the Shopping category as a Work-time policy.
  • Assign another policy that allows the category as a Free-time policy.

If your company decides not to work on Friday, you can configure Global Free-time under Policy > Free Time.

For more flexibility, use Group-specific Free-time on the group edit page.

If you want to block everything during a specific time of day, you can also use Policy-specific Block Time.

Screen Time
Screen Time allows you to set a daily time allowance for accessing certain domain categories within a policy.

  1. In a policy, set the Screen Time (in minutes).
  2. Select the categories to apply the Screen Time limit in the Screen Time Categories tab.
  3. Users filtered by this policy can access the selected categories only for the allotted time.
Screen Time resets daily. To reset the allowance on demand, go to the User List, click TEST button for a user, and use the reset option.
